Does this work with my existing POS?
Yes, in fact ProxiPay-Go does not interact at all with any front-end POS system. We directly integrate on the backend with payment gateways that are tied to a merchant account. ProxiPay-Go can be deployed in locations to create additional revenue channels. We use payment technology that allows for unattended operation.
Does this work with my existing merchant account?
We work with different payment gateways that each support multiple payment processors. So depending on the actual processor you use, we may be able to re-use your merchant account for ProxiPay-Go. The exact answer varies case by case since it depends on pay terminal hardware (diffferent pay terminals are qualified for different pay processors and gateways), the region/country you're in, your type of business etc. Contact us to discuss your specific case. Worst-case we can create a new merchant account for you for sales via ProxiPay-Go.
What hardware do I need to run this? Does it work with displays I already have?
To run ProxiPay-Go, you basically need 3 things: a display, a media player, and a pay terminal. Optionally, if you want to print out sales receipts in addition to email receipts, you need to have a receipt printer. The big advantage of ProxiPay-Go is that you do NOT need an expensive touchscreen display, as a regular computer display or TV will do, from a consumer TV to a professional monitor. The media player drives the display (HDMI connection) but also controls the other peripherals (pay terminal, printer) via your in-store local LAN connection. No other hardware is needed (no servers). Since your storefront website is on the public internet and customers place order on that using a regular cellular connection from their phone, you do not need to deploy any guest WiFi.
How do I customize the digital signage layout?
Do I need to setup a guest WiFi?
No you don't. The website customers access for purchases is like an e-commerce site and is available on the public internet. ProxiPay-Go ties it back to your digital signage displays and pay terminals using cloud connectivity with our software running on the media player.
Does this work for shipment and pickup-in-store?
Yes. For each product/service you setup on ProxiPay-Go, you can define one or more 'fulfillment methods', such as shipping or in-store pickup. If a product has multiple fulfillment methods then the shopper can select which one to use when they order the product on their phone. This allows for drop-ship to the shopper's home. For a shipment fulfillment method you can setup multiple fulfillment options such as 'Ground', 'Priority', '1-day', '2-day' delivery, each with a separate shipping and handling fee. It is completely customizable on a per-store basis, and on a per product basis, which fulfillment methods you support. When a customer order contains an item that is shipped, the customer is prompted upon checkout to enter a shipping address (which can be remembered for future orders if they create an account).
Does this work when multiple customers order at the same time and need to pay?
Yes. and in fact this is a key advantage over a traditional touchscreen based kiosk, which can only be used for ordering one at a time. With ProxiPay-Go multiple customers can order simultaneously from their phone. Before placing an order, the mobile site asks to enter a 'pay terminal code'. This code is unique to each pay terminal, shows on the pay terminal's LCD screen, and changes every minute. Once a customer enters the code, the code is validated in real-time and if valid, it no longer shows on the pay termnal's LCD screen and that pay terminal is now claimed by this customer for payment until a timeout occurs. This method ensures that customers can only complete an order when in the store and near the pay terminal.
Can you support multiple pay terminals but only a single kiosk to allow for quick checkout during rush times?
Yes. This is a big benefit of ProxiPay-Go vs a regular touchscreen based kiosk which only allows one interaction at a time. Customers order from their own phone, and complete payment via a physical pay terminal. Since we support EMV payments, it literally takes just a few seconds to complete payment via a tap. However to avoid bottlenecks during rush times, eg when deployed in a QSR application during lunch time, you can install multiple pay terminals near a single kiosk display. When ready for payment, the shopper 'claims' a pay terminal by entering a unique rotating code that is shown on the pay terminal's LCD screen when they complete checkout on their phone. This pay terminal is then ready to accept payment for this customer's order.
Do you support discount codes that customers can apply during checkout?
Yes. If you setup a shop that supports discount codes, then during checkout customers can enter the respective code on their phone to apply the discount to their cart. Furthermore the system supports putting limits on discounts, so that the discount code cannot be applied more than a certain number of times.
Can I use only the e-commerce part of this for remote online orders?
Yes you can. In fact, in that case you don't need any hardware as then the only components are the operator web console and the storefront website. Both are hosted in the cloud. Instead of an in-store payment method using pay terminals, we then configure your store to use a mobile payment method. At this timer we offer integration with Braintree (which is the payment processor of PayPal) for mobile payments so we can accept all payment methods they support, which includes PayPal itself but also mobile wallet payments, or manually entered debit and credit card payments.
How do I import products from my existing POS catalog?
We don't expect you would make all your products available on Proxi-Pay-Go, as you most likely will only promote 'featured' products on digital signage. So manual import should not be impossible. However we also offer a bulk product import from a CSV file. The file needs to have a specific format so contact us to discuss the bulk import options as it depends on the exported format of your POS catalog.
Is my data safe? Who is hosting the ordering website?
All store-specific content of each of our customers is kept separate. In the software world, this is known as 'containerization'. Each of our customers runs in a standalone container. By default we host these containers on one of the cloud providers we work with, but since it's containerized and thus abstracted from underlying hardware, we could in principle host it on any cloud including your private or hybrid cloud. Because of the separate cloud deployment for ProxiPay-Go for each subscriber, with a proper DNS registration, it can even look as if the storefront site is running on your own domain.
Is this PCI-compliant? Is this respectful of shopper's privacy?
Yes it is. We never receive any actual payment card data. The pay terminal itself tokenizes the transaction and provides us with a hashed card number that allows to verify whether this is a new or returning customer, but we never obtain the actual card data. All communication between the media player and the pay terminal happens on the local in-store LAN, and is encrypted. All communication from the pay terminal to finalize the order payment goes directly from the terminal to the payment gateway / processor and of course is also encrypted.
In terms of privacy when customers order on the mobile site, shoppers can choose to either create an account for a shop, which allows to store information such as shipping address for future use, or they can just do a 'guest checkout' by entering an email address (which we use to send the sales receipt email to) if the shop operator has set the shop to allow guest checkout (which is the recommended default setting, since it simplifies the checkout process). We do not share customer information between 'shops'.
